Product Overview
Pantene’s Pro-V formula is built around panthenol — pro-vitamin B5 — which is the ingredient the brand has been named after for decades. Panthenol is a genuine humectant: it draws water into the hair shaft and holds it there, which is why Pro-V shampoos leave hair feeling soft rather than stripped.
This is the Silky & Smooth variant, aimed at frizz and roughness. 400ml bottle from the UAE.

How to Wash Hair Properly
- Wet the hair thoroughly first. Shampoo on half-wet hair does not spread and does not lather.
- Put the shampoo on the scalp, not on the length. The scalp is where the oil and dirt are; the ends get cleaned by the suds running down and that is enough.
- Massage with the pads of the fingers, never the nails, for a minute or so.
- Rinse until the water runs completely clear. Under-rinsing leaves residue that dulls hair and irritates the scalp.
- A second, shorter lather if the hair was oiled or heavily product-laden. Otherwise one is enough.
- Condition the mid-lengths and ends only, then rinse in cool water.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will it weigh my hair down?
Smoothing shampoos deposit conditioning agents, and on fine hair that can add weight over several washes. If hair starts to feel flat, alternate with a lighter or clarifying shampoo.
Is it suitable for coloured hair?
It will do no harm. If colour longevity matters most to you, a sulfate-free shampoo is the better choice.
How often should I wash my hair?
There is no universal answer. Oily scalps and dusty commutes suit daily or alternate-day washing; dry, curly or chemically treated hair usually does better with two or three washes a week. Medicated shampoos are the exception — follow the course on the pack rather than your habit.
Will it suit my hair type?
Most shampoos suit most hair. The differences that matter are how strongly it cleans and how much it conditions: fine or oily hair wants a lighter wash, dry or coarse hair wants a richer one. Coloured and chemically treated hair does best with sulfate-free.
